BurrOak Concerts debuted on July 16, 2021 with BurrOak Baroque • Webster Groves, MO
Traditional and modern interpretations of succinct, lively and beautiful baroque music from the era of Bach, Purcell, Telemann, Vivaldi and Monteverdi shall feature live performances of Early Music Missouri lead by lutist Jeffrey Noonan, violist Michael Casimir, Swedish ballerina Julia Bengtsson, cellist Jody Redhage, trombonist Alan Ferber, dancer Ramona Orion, opera soprano Elise La Barge, dancer Abigail LeBaube, guitarist Walter Parks, and percussionist Chris Clausen.
Baroque music and dance were the classical art forms of the time (early 1600 to late1700) when Larson Parks' 300 year-old "Liberty" Burr Oak was young. Therefore to co-presenters Margo and Walter Parks (Oak Street residents), the Burroak Baroque pun obviated the artistic realm to honor and present, staged at the foot of the majestic tree, in a natural amphitheater near the dead-end of Poplar Ave off Oak Street.
