Julia Crafton

Born in 2005 into a family of musicians, Julia Crafton has been surrounded by music, musicians, poets, visual artists and other fabulously creative people her entire life.  As a child, in an apartment directly over her parents' recording studio, she was lulled to sleep every night by the best.

Richie Havens, David Amram, Bernard Purdie, New York Broadway, Classical and Jazz Artists, were regulars at the dinner table for casual conversation. She heard the music and stories from the musicians themselves who made American Music History.

With her twin brother, the studio after-hours became her playground with pianos, B3 organs, guitars, and drums to explore.  From this, comes her own music; the combination of sounds, history and love from all those musicians, who helped raise her.

Now at 16, she has been a "Featured Artist" at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art's virtual "Balcony Bar from Home Series" in partnership with ETHEL (60K+ views and counting!), and has performed her own shows at New York's iconic "Bitter End" and "The Cutting Room" stages.
